MODERN ENGLISH - MESH AND LACE

Modern English made several albums in the 80's. Mesh & Lace has a brand of doomy, intense post-punk style. This is a very interesting period piece though; singer Robie (not Robbie) Grey's voice gives new meaning to the word monotone but it's the instruments which help to build the atmosphere most of all; the chilling, radio commnetary on '16 Days' and the rapid drum fills on 'The Token Man'. On some tracks no words are spoken until a few minutes of menacing bass guitar and keyboard-driven 'melody' have set the tone. It's all a bit heavy going for 70-odd minutes (thanks to the generous A and B sides offered on this re-issue) but it is very rarely dull.

Thank you for this posting. This was such a great band and so often as well as others overlooked. The two albums that followed this one(which i already have) are spectacular and i highly recommend!
Would the third one entitled "stop start" be amongst your collection? I've never seen it anywhere except in that elusive never to find gone out of print pile that exists somewhere out my hands.

Thanks!

Any chance that someone could re-upload it? I've been looking for it for quite some time.

Thanks in advance
